This site is mostly about certain PDA & SMARTPHONE phones, made by a firm called HTC in Taiwan. They called them 'Wallaby', 'Himalaya', 'Blue Angel', 'Wizard' and 'TyTN', but nearly nobody knows them by those names. They are oversubscribed through mobile operators that provide them their possess names. We got our first such phone as 'XDA', . Since we got develop software for these phones, we necessary very specific theoretical information. When started xda-developers, neither Microsoft, nor HTC nor the mobile operators seemed eager or modify willing to provide it to us. So XDA 'reverse-engineered' the devices, found a lot of information, and shared it with the world. But as XDA site grew they realised that lots of ordinary users were also pain from a lack of support. We started using the xda-developers installation to communicate and before long the installation was as much a user installation as it was a developer forum. Other years, we've grown. Oh my have we grown. In fact we're still growing like crazy: this is now digit of the larger systems of its category on the internet. Anyway.... We hope that you will enjoy this site and find it as useful as we do.
